I propose to introduce an exponential increase in the penalties for employers who repeat violations of workers' rights, as it is now the case that some employers find it more worthwhile to pay the penalty and continue to exploit workers in the same old way.
Labour law is supposed to guarantee at least minimum rights, but in practice it is the Wild West in many places, not least because the inspectorate writes only the minimum prescribed penalties or only warns, and workers continue to be exploited.
