Hello, On 26 October, the Government considered and tabled the amendment proposed in January, introducing changes in the area of vehicle taxation. As no changes appear to have been made, it can be assumed that virtually all vehicles will be more expensive under the original proposal. Except for a few very luxurious ones. I call once again for the current vehicle taxes to be abolished or at least radically changed. These are the DMV (motor vehicle tax) and the luxury tax. We are in difficult times, countries are cutting taxes and our country is abolishing the luxury tax at the expense of making ALL vehicles more expensive. This is a very unfortunate solution, as everyday vehicles that are used by families on a daily basis in large numbers will be 200-300% more expensive, while luxury vehicles will be a few tens of thousands of euros cheaper, but still not enough to make it worth registering them with us. So we would be burdening all classes - except, of course, the very wealthy. For example, if the motor tax on a family car like a Golf or Passat is €100 or €200 now, it would be between €500 and €800 now. On the other hand, an expensive Mercedes would be €50 000 cheaper. In these times, this is a totally unproductive change. We would therefore be making the best-selling vehicles more expensive. Why not just abolish the whole thing, or at least put a more friendly face on it? An article in one of the daily newspapers mentioned a few euros more road fund for everyone, which would mean the same revenue, making it easier for everyone to buy. Even for the most expensive vehicles, which would then not make sense to register elsewhere. Let us think a little practically and logically, high taxes mean a fall in purchasing power, and we do not want that. Not at all in these times when the economy is impoverished. Greetings to all!
