I propose to introduce compulsory renewal - validation of driving licences every four years. Why? Over a period of time, a lot changes in traffic (there are quite a few of us who obtained our driving licence decades ago, there were no roundabouts then, traffic was less, etc.). So it would be very welcome if, once in a while, the holder of a driving licence had to validate his/her licence by attending a training seminar to introduce new developments in traffic, to inform the participants about the road traffic rules, to show a film about the consequences of dangerous driving, etc. I think that the biggest reason for traffic accidents on Slovenian roads is that most of the participants think that they know how to drive or operate a vehicle, but in reality, they don't know why it is wise to buckle up, they have no idea about reaction time and think that they can drive through settlements at more than 50 km/h, most of them don't even know how to hold the steering wheel properly, put on a seat, etc. So such a measure would certainly increase road safety, while at the same time significantly reducing the number of unnecessary accidents.
