Given that the place marking on the vehicle registration plate has not reflected the owner's place of origin for many years, as any vehicle owner can have any place marking he or she wishes, or just keep the one used by the previous owner, I propose that the State, following the example of some countries, remove the place markings from the registration plates. This would also avoid unnecessary observation of drivers with certain place markings and damage to vehicles with certain place markings.
In addition, by removing the local markings, the Slovenian coat of arms could be placed on the number plate instead of the municipal coats of arms.
