I propose to add the following rule to the traffic regulations: - Overtaking vehicles is prohibited when driving in a congested queue for vehicles with at least three vehicles in front of them. Applies on all roads with only two lanes - applies to regional or local roads, not motorways. Explanatory note What is happening is that we have far too many root-knives - lunatics - savages on the road who do not know how to, cannot, do not want to, drive in a column of vehicles, even though it is clear to them that they will gain nothing in time by overtaking. Not to mention endangering all other road users. In short, if you have more than three vehicles in front of you in a congested queue, you must not overtake and thereby endanger others by rear-ending another vehicle in front of you that has started to overtake, if the driver may or may not have noticed your intention. The second and third vehicles in the column may overtake and the others must wait their turn to overtake. In this case, we greatly reduce the chance of a vehicle being hit by someone who has decided to overtake the whole column of vehicles and then pushes back into the column if they cannot overtake.
