As I could not find anywhere what the methodology was for classifying the two vignettes for private traffic, I wonder why the height of 1.3 m above the first axle for the more expensive vignette is relevant. The Piaggio Porter, which has a load capacity of barely 520 kg, falls into this more expensive class, whereas for the Peugeot Expert, which can carry a larger load, a simple vignette is sufficient. Logically, you would think that a bigger vehicle and a higher payload would put more stress on the road, but someone has worked out that it is the height of the vehicle above the first axle that is the relevant factor, because it is the aerodynamics of the vehicle that puts stress on the asphalt. True, it is illogical. I have nothing against different price classes of vignettes, but it seems to me that such a classification should be carried out by someone who is familiar with the basics of physics or logical connections. If I am wrong in my thinking, I would ask for clarification. I will not take bad practice from another European country as a good answer.
