I propose a mandatory announcement of resurfacing works on public roads (national and municipal) at the intended location itself in the form of a temporary road sign erected at least a week (or some more reasonable period of time) in advance. The sign should of course also include the expected end date of the works and information on what will be done there and exactly what will change (half closure, full closure, etc.). Let's say what Dars is doing at the moment is commendable, but it should be further upgraded to, as I said, just an announcement of the works, not just a notification once the construction site is already in place. It would also make sense to put the announcements on the website of the Transport Information Centre. It would also make sense for municipalities to be obliged to inform the PIC of closures of municipal roads that are not currently covered. I am sure that this would save a lot of hot blood among drivers, and allow them to be informed in good time about the appropriate detour. Of course, such a solution makes sense mainly in settlements and on busier roads, but probably on less busy roads such information would not have much effect.
