After the construction of the second tube of the Karavanke tunnel, the toll for R1 vehicles using the Karavanke tunnel from the direction of Slovenia should be abolished and R Slovenia should agree with R Austria to do the same in Austria in the direction of Slovenia.
 
Current situation: R3 and R4 vehicles already pass through the tunnel in free flow because they use Dars-GO.
Advantages:
-no need to build a new road station at Hrušice and will save several million euro for construction before the new tunnel and then for rehabilitation of the existing one when the existing tunnel is rehabilitated.
-no traffic jams at tourist peak times
-the pollution of the air and the surrounding area by toxic gases from vehicles will be greatly reduced
-enough money is collected through vignettes for our part of the section and there is no need for a special toll collection, as it is not levied on any tunnel or viaduct in Slovenia
