I propose to the Government to include also extraordinary students - in addition to full-time students - as recipients of a one-off financial aid of €150 under the COVID-19 Intervention Law. We consider it reasonable and in line with the principle of equal treatment that all students (full-time and part-time) are treated equally. This is because they all have student status and can therefore only work through a student service and therefore not through an employment contract, a partnership, etc. This is also the reason why part-time students do not receive any aid; neither from the point of view of their status as employees nor from the point of view of their status as students. Part-time students are therefore the only category of citizens who are exempt from any state aid in this state of emergency against the corona virus. We understand that the Government of the Republic of Slovenia has hastily decided to adopt an anti-corona mega-package of laws; and has consequently overlooked certain categories of citizens. We expect that the above unequal treatment be remedied by including exceptional students in the category of recipients of student state aid. We ask for your understanding.
